Exhibited at the "Tryn-Trava. Contemporary Russian Style" 2022 exhibition
The ceramic legs of the table and console resemble blocks of ice with different facets, sparkling in shades of blue and light blue, crystalline and monumental, like the dormant waters of Lake Baikal.
The table's glass top is thin, like ice, as if under the tip of an iceberg. The console's top appears to float in the air, symbolizing the fragility of ice. With this new work, we also want to draw attention to the environmental aspect. The ecology of this protected body of water, as well as nature itself, has long required close attention and careful human care. This explains the name of the pieces, "On the Edge." On the one hand, we're talking about the disappearance of natural resources, the preservation of which is in our hands. On the other hand, facets are direct elements of the work, a visual embodiment.
Confirming our status as an ART ceramics studio, we decided to experiment with materials: we combined ceramics with a new material for us—tempered glass.
